The
Blessings of life are upon you.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for justice, for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart, for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.
Blessed are they who suffer persecution for justice' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
- Matthew 5:5-12

Don't
Worry ... Be Thankful! - Bobby McFarran "Don't
Worry Be Happy" -
Favorite
times, favorite friends, share the dish with pie baked in,
A
loving gesture, kindhearted deed, saying thanks or asking
please,
It's little things that make the world go round,
from friend to friend pass it down.

Give
thanks for sorrow that teaches you pity; for pain that teaches
you courage - and give exceeding thanks for the mystery which
remains a mystery still - the veil that hides you from the
infinite, which makes it possible for you to believe in what you
cannot see. -- Robert Nathan (1894-1985,
American Novelist)
Give
us this day our daily bread
Gratitude
can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs
into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.
-- William Arthur Ward
A
Harvest of Memories, A day of Thanks
I
am thankful.....
-for the taxes that I pay because it means
that I am employed.
-for the clothes that fit a little too
snug because it means I have enough to eat.
-for my shadow
that watches me work because it means I am out in the sunshine.
-for a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning,
and gutters that need fixing because it means I have a home.
-for all the complaining I hear about the government because
it means that we have freedom of speech.
-for the parking
spot I find at the far end of the parking lot because it means I
am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with
transportation.
-for my huge heating bill because it means I
am warm.
-for the lady behind me in church that sings off
key because it means that I can hear.
-for the pile of
laundry and ironing because it means I have clothes to wear.
-for weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day
because it means I have been capable of working hard.
-for
the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours because it
means that I am alive.
-for the noisy kids getting on my
nerves because they remind me the importance of family being
close.
and finally... I'm thankful for too much e-mail
because it means I have friends who are thinking of me.
May our home always be a place of peace and plenty,
A place of strength and sanctuary,
A place of warmth and laughter
and a place where love is unconditional.
A meal, however simple, is a moment of intersection. It is at once the most basic, the most fundamental, of our life's activities, maintaining the life of our bodies; shared with others it can be an occasion of joy and communion, uniting people deeply. - Elise Boulding
Over the River and Through the Woods
Over the river and thru the wood,
To grandmother's house we go;
The horse knows the way
To carry the sleigh,
Thru the white and drifted snow, oh!
Over the river and thru the wood,
Oh, how the wind does blow!
It stings the toes,
And bites the nose,
As over the ground we go.
Over the river and thru the wood,
To have a first-rate play;
Oh, hear the bell ring,
"Ting-a-ling-ling!"
Hurrah for Thanksgiving Day-ay!
Over the river and thru the wood,
Trot fast my dapple gray!
Spring over the ground,
Like a hunting hound!
For this is Thanksgiving Day.
Over the river and through the woods
And straight through the barnyard gate.
It seems that we go so dreadfully slow;
It is so hard to wait.
Over the river and through the woods,
Now Grandma's cap I spy.
Hurrah for fun; the pudding's done;
Hurrah for the pumpkin pie.
Share
your bountiful harvest!!
Thank
you for the world so sweet, Thank you for the food we eat
Thank
you for the birds that sing, Thank you Lord for everything.

Time
We
gather Together to ask the Lords Blessing
When
you're worried and you can't sleep... count your blessings
instead of sheep.
You
prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You
anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness
and love will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will
dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
- A
psalm of David. Psalm 23:5-6
Tips:
Sit
down in a quiet moment before the holiday season begins and
write down everything you are thankful for – EVERYTHING AND
EVERONE. Journal this into your Thanksgiving page every year or
put this in a secret place behind a picture or a journal card. I
make one every year and when I'm finished I look at last year's
list and realize that the list is similar except for some
wonderful ad-ons.
